suelos son aptos para el desarrollo de una importante actividad agr\u00edcola, actividad en la que juega un importante rol la red h\u00eddrica del R\u00edo Maule, adem\u00e1s de un importante n\u00famero de r\u00edos que act\u00faa como tributarios del Maule: r\u00edo Puelche, Cipreses, Las Garzas, Claro.<\/p><p>Los r\u00edos Lircay, Picazo y Perqu\u00edn drenan en plena Depresi\u00f3n Intermedia, siguen la pendiente Este \u2013 Oeste, desembocando en el r\u00edo Claro (camino a Talca) el cual lleva finalmente las aguas al predominan las praderas y los bosques, entre las especies nativas se encuentran robles, Maqui, Lingues, Avellanos, Peumo, Quillay, Olivillos, Canelos, Array\u00e1n, Mait\u00e9n, Raul\u00ed, Boldos, Litres, Cipr\u00e9s de la Cordillera, entre otros.<\/p><p>Adem\u00e1s, en las zonas precordilleranas, existe una gran variedad de helechos en el que se incluye nuestra Flor Nacional El class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>La actividad econ\u00f3mica de la comuna se basa fundamentalmente en la agricultura.<\/p><p>El sector precordillerano y especialmente la depresi\u00f3n intermedia, la que posee terrenos relativamente planos, presentan \u00f3ptimas condiciones para el cultivo agr\u00edcola, siendo intensamente explotada en los predios de mediana y peque\u00f1a extensi\u00f3n.<\/p><p>En la precordillera, la incipiente explotaci\u00f3n forestal (pino insigne y manejo local del bosque nativo) est\u00e1n alcanzando fuerte influencia que en el medio plazo se transforme en una importante fuente generadora de materia prima y trabajo forestal.<\/p><p>En la \u00faltima d\u00e9cada, muchos cultivos tradicionales han ido dando paso a una creciente producci\u00f3n frut\u00edcola, \u00e1rea donde destacan huertos de manzanas (verdes y rojas), perales, frambuesas, berries, etc.- Otras han decrecido, como el cultivo del tabaco.<\/p><p>La remolacha azucarera, el tomate salsero, papas, trigo, ma\u00edz, porotos y la maravilla, logran un importante impacto en la producci\u00f3n regional.<\/p><p>La cordillera de Los Andes en sus valles y quebradas recibe anualmente una importante masa ganadera que buscan las veranadas o praderas de
